How I escaped from the Plombs…

« How I Escaped the Plombs » eludes grasp. Yet, the attraction is undeniable: the sensuality of the materials and objects placed here, their imposing physical presence, captivates. But to feel their imprint, there is no need to touch. From the topography that governs them, from the space thus created, a boundary emerges—one that cannot be crossed. Alain Quesnel’s work possesses this distinct quality: it subverts reference points and unsettles expectations. The point of contact lies elsewhere—in the interplay and resonance of the elements, in the flow of energies and subtle transformations. It exists within the creative process, the comings and goings of thought and gaze, the emergence of a title. If the work evades capture, the viewer, on the contrary, is seized—faced with these enigmatic questions. Might the work itself be an allegory of touch?
